Dana B. Miles, a founding partner of Miles Hansford Law Firm, has practiced law in Forsyth and Dawson counties for over 30 years. He specialized in general corporate and business litigation with a significant emphasis on local government law. He previously served as City Attorney for both Cumming and Dawsonville as well as representing other local governments and authorities throughout North Georgia. He has an interest and specialty practice in real estate-based litigation.
Born in Toronto, Ontario, Miles received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Emory University in 1977 and his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1980. He is a dedicated Bulldog and has served as the President and as a District Representative for the Law School Alumni Council at the University of Georgia. He was active in the State Bar of Georgia having served as YLS President as a young lawyer and later in his career as chair of both the Professionalism and Uniform Rules Committees.
Upon retirement from the firm, he and his wife relocated to east Georgia where they split their time between a farm in Madison and a home on Law Oconee. He is a certified mediator and has continued to conduct both mediations and arbitrations. In addition, he has done both consulting and investigative work primarily for small businesses and local governments in Georgia.
