Sometimes Going Through Divorce Is Hard to Do

Wouldn’t it be nice if all divorces could be completed without conflict? While there are those in Georgia and elsewhere who seem to have a relatively easy time getting through their divorce proceedings, others find that they simply cannot come to agreeable terms, making the whole thing drag on longer than expected. This seems to be the case with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

Mr. Pitt and Ms. Jolie have been married for two years, but they spent over a decade together before they opted to tie the knot. During their time together they amassed numerous properties, created a wine label and accumulated a number of shared assets worth millions of dollars. According to reports, Angelina filed for divorce in mid-Sept. 2016.

Nearly a year after the divorce filing, things have come to a standstill. The Jolie-Pitts have been unable to come to terms regarding the division of their assets. While the couple does reportedly have a prenuptial agreement, there are certain things that it apparently does not cover. As both sides are standing firm in what they wish to achieve in their property division settlement, they have decided to put the whole thing on hold.

When going through the divorce process, there is nothing wrong with taking a break and re-evaluating things. Sometimes stepping away can shine some light on the situation and help both parties decide the best way to proceed. When ready to get back into it, with the assistance of legal counsel divorcing couples in Georgia can finalize their settlements and finish the process.
